Jane and I were supposed to be back from Maine today, but we've actually been back for a couple of days. The reason? After several weeks of battling various things induced by old age, my grandfather passed away on Monday. The only surprise was in the timing, and it was most likely a relief for him. Nevertheless, the death of a family member who you're close to brings up all sorts of feelings of loss, guilt, sadness, and paranoia that are, to put it very mildly, unpleasant to have. The funeral was on Friday, and the presence of family members who I have various degrees of closeness to was helpful.
I think that's all I'm going to say about it.
